Around the end of October, a friend asked if I could write a couple of Bible verses in calligraphy for a friend of his who was getting married. I felt he gave me too short of notice, since I'm not too experienced with deadlines for calligraphy projects, and because I have been battling with insomnia and severe headaches. So, instead, my husband printed out the Bible verses, in calligraphy, on photo paper with a light background, and I quilled some flowers around it with a heart around the rings. I'm actually a beginner with quilling, and it took me longer than expected, but it was still easier for me to handle. I hope the bride liked it. Sorry about the glare in the picture:

DLP Week 15

The following is my 2 week calendar layout representing the Messianic Passover Seder that was led by my husband on April 12th.

The next photo was for the week 15 Challenge to use shades, tints and hues of one color. My colors were blue. It turned out somewhat dark. I did try to lighten it, but it didn't work out too well. The mermaid is embossed and the bubbles were done with a Pearl Pen in Ice White . The starfish was done with glitter glue, and the shells were outlined with glitter pens. The background net was done with a stencil and a white colored pencil to make it stand out against the blue a bit.

Documented Life Project (DLP) - Trust

This is the first "Tip In" in my DLP Journal/Planner. I decided to begin my journal with my one perfect word for the year which is "Trust". The background is watercolor crayons scribbled on and then brushed with a water brush. The word "Trust" is stamped and I used a saying by Catherine Martin. I thought it was a good reminder to start the year with trust in God and representing that in my planner.

Art Journal Background

I made the following background by spraying one page with water, then spraying it with Dylusions Ink Sprays, then closing the book and opening it up, and below is the result:

Documented Life Project

Hello Everyone. At the end of March, I signed up with the Documented Life Project (DLP). I purchased a Molskine Planner, and the idea is to use it as a Planner, Diary/Journal and art journal. Obviously since I didn't start in January, I'm behind in using it. First, I'm hoping to be able to do this project for the year, and then I'm hoping to slowly "catch up" on the beginning part of the planner. There are also weekly challenges. I'm not so sure I explained this clearly, so you can read more at www.arttothe5th.com and EveryLifeHasaStory.ning.com  Below are a couple of photos of how my planner is looking with washi tape on the page edges to attach a piece of watercolor paper for the challenges.
