Snow

I love the snow, and we just had our first snowfall/blizzard for December 2009. So, of course, I had to run out with my new camera and take some shots. I was hoping we would get this snow for Christmas Eve/Day, but I don't think it's going to last with the forecast predicting a rain/snow mix coming.

Sooooo Sad Today

Yesterday, Dec. 18th, I had to euthanize one of my precious little dogs. She was about 12 years old and was suffering from Spondylosis of her spine/back. She got to the point that she couldn't hold herself up anymore or walk. I had to feed her by hand and give her water through a syringe. I spent about 3 months or so of getting up 3-5 times at night because she would sleep during the day and be awake at night crying for my attention. There's so much more that she dealt with, and I had to tend to, but I won't burden you with all the details. Even after all this, it was so hard to let her go. She brought alot of laughter and joy to our home after our previous dog had died. She was a tough little cookie and very independent, until her final days, and we sure did love her. She suffered alot in her lifetime, and we're just glad that we were able to give her lots of love and a good home. The picture above is what she looked like when we first adopted her. She will be greatly missed.

Thanksgiving

Hi Everybody, So sorry I haven't been around for a while again. Life can get so crazy sometimes, and other things need to take priority. After Thanksgiving, I hope to put some pictures on my blog showing you a few things I've been working on. So check back to see what's going on. Happy Thanksgiving to everyone. Linda

Quick Easy Cards

These two cards were so easy to make, and you can do it too. I took multicolored scrapbook paper and glued it to the cardstock. Then I used one stamp and colored it with Marvy Markers. Then stamped it. As you can see, for the first card I used only 1 color on the stamp. The next card has a few colors. Very quick and easy to do.

Understanding Color Book

I apologize that the pictures didn't come through on my previous post. It's been a while, so I had to figure it out again. Anyway, the above pictures are from the Understanding Color Class. The first picture is the backside of the book, the second one is the inside and the third pic is the book when it's closed.

Color Class

Hi Everyone,
I've just completed an on-line course titled, "Understanding Color", and I'm including pictures of the final project. The course was 4 weeks long and taught by Teri Martin. She is a calligrapher, has her own line of scrapbook papers, etc, and she's a great teacher. The class was given at www.mycreativeclassroom.com I wondered how this on-line course would work, and whether it would be worth it or not, and I was pleasantly surprised. It went very well, and I'm looking forward to possibly taking another course in September. In this class we mixed whatever paints or inks that we had and made color wheels. We made small color studies and then made a small book to put them in. I took the class because I felt the need to learn more about color, so I can use it to make backgrounds for my calligraphy, rubber stamping and scrapbooking.

A Pregnancy Card?

Yes. I've never seen one before, and I probably would not have thought to make one until I saw this adorable stamp set in The Angel Company (TAC) catalog. The card is simple and fast, and it will carry your message of congratulations in a cute way. Don't ya think? The set is named "How Swell" and comes with 9 stamps for $11.95. Catalog number R-2025. Interested in the set or seeing a catalog? Leave a comment how or where I can contact you. Thanks for looking.

TAC Demonstrator and Learning To Blog

Well, it's been a while since I've posted anything so it's due time. Since I am a lover of rubber stamping, scrapbooking, calligraphy and photography, I decided to become a demonstrator for The Angel Company. I don't know how well this is going to work, but I'm giving it a try. As soon as I can figure out how to post a picture to the right of this blog, I'll put up the most recent catalog. This whole thing with blogging, being a demonstrator for TAC and advertising that I'm doing this as a business along with calligraphy is a whole new step of faith for me. So I hope you'll be patient as I learn about blogging and how to do this. If anyone has any tips to share about blogging, please feel free to leave a comment. As I'm able, I'll share my adventures and creations with you. Linda

Explosion Box

In September 2008, I took a class to learn how to make an Explosion Box. The box is covered with scrapbook paper that has ice cream cones on it for use as a Birthday theme or whatever else I wish. It can be made without the printed paper so that individual words, small messages or individual letters can be written on the panels in script or calligraphy. The box itself is a gift, but another small gift can be added inside.
